WESTERN AUSTRALIAN BLACKS.

DR. ROTH’s REPORT.

LONDON, February 6.

Mr. Walter James, Agent-General for Western Australia, in a letter published in the Times this morning, comments on the report of Dr. Roth, dealing with the treatment of aboriginal prisoners in that State. Mr. James explains the action taken by the Western Australian Government, and defends the white settlers generally from the charge of inhumanity, adding that they are anxious to assist the Government in checking the abuses which, according to Dr. Roth, have prevailed.
