ADVANCEMENT OF SCIENCE.
In consequence of the discoveries of Colonel Reid, now Governor of Bermuda, as developed in his excellent work on the Law of Storms, the government has established observations in the different Colonies where meteorological journals are kept. In this Colony there are three stations, Sydney, Port Phillip, and Port Macquarie, and full tables are sent to Europe, we believe, to the Royal Society, and monthly abstracts are published in the Government Gazette, which are invariably copied into this journal. We are glad, however, to be able to inform our readers that we have made arrangements, by which a weekly abstract of the jonrnal kept at South Head will be compiled for this journal, and we shall be hnppy at all times to receive, from our country correspondents, communications upon the subject.
