A Fatal Fall.--Wm. Jones, who was admitted to the Fremantle Hospital on Thursday last suffering from concussion of the brain, caused through a fall down the fore companion steps of the steamer Koombana, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. The deceased, who was second cook on the Koombana, never regained consciousness.
G. Jones was not related to the William Jones who was second cook until his fatal accident aboard ship in July 1911.
"Thursday last": not last Thursday, but the Thursday of the previous week ie. July 13th, Koombana's day of departure for east.
