The following official list of the names of the crew who signed on the s.s. Koombana's articles and who were supposed to have gone in the vessel is supplied by the Shipping Master of Fremantle (Captain T. W. Smith). The age, birthplace, and capacity of each member is given:--

Therefore, Deller must have been fresh on board for the final trip (Trip #37, March 1912)

give me some information regarding A E Deller
who signed on as baker on the "Koombana" that might
be contained in the Shipping Articles. I have been
to the Companies Office & they have referred me to
you. I should like to know if you have Dellers
address in London on the Articles so that I can
write to his wife and acquaint her with the sad news
I was the only friend he had here & I feel it my duty
to let here know as there is no one else to do it.

In what looks like a file note only, the following is hand-written:
"I attach letter certifying death (as in other cases). I desire to state £7/4/- wages sent to acct gen Board of Trade to whom she must apply for wages. There is a box of effects (if desired will send home but the goods would not warrant freight."

Sir,
Further to my memo of the 5th. inst, in which I
stated, inter alia, that I was forwarding the wages of A.E.Deller
late of the S.S. "KOOMBANA" and gave the claimant of the wages
due as Mrs. Deller, 78, North St., Edgware Rd., I now find that
this Mrs. Deller is the mother of the deceased and the Mrs. Deller
of 142 Axe St, Barking, is the wife of deceased (see letter and
Marriage Certificate attached herewith) and shall be glad if
you will disburse the money to the latter instead of to the
mother, as requested in previous memo.
