THE SECRETARY TO THE PREMIER.
The Chairman of the Court of Marine Inquiry (Mr Dowley) suggests that a telegram be sent to the Resident Magistrate at Port Hedland asking him to make inquiries locally and find out whether any evidence is available which would be of assistance to the Court and what witnesses are forthcoming. If necessary, the Court could then arrange for the Resident Magistrate to take such evidence on commission.
Mr Dowley also suggests that the senders of the attached telegrams be advised of this action if taken.
