Mr. M. L. Moss, who on Thursday was appointed King's Counsel, is a native of Dunedin, New Zealand, where he was born in 1863. At the age of 23 he was admitted to the bar of New Zealand, and practised in that colony until 1891, when he came to West Australia. Since that time he has practised with distinguished success at the bar of this State. In 1895 Mr. Moss was elected to represent the North Fremantle electorate in the Legislative Assembly, and in 1902 was returned unopposed for the West Province seat in the Legislative Council. Mr. Moss occupied the portfolio of Colonial Secretary in the Morgans Ministry for a brief term, and in the present Government he holds an honorary portfolio and presides over the Crown Law Department. Mr. Moss is the senior partner in the firm of Moss and Barsden.
