Fremantle, May 4.

The court of inquiry continued its sitting to-day.

Mr. Moss, K.C., representing the Adelaide S.S. Company, made a lengthy summing up, and referred in caustic terms to the scandalous rumours circulated concerning the disaster. There was one busybody connected with the press who was always stirring up this sort of thing. In his (Mr. Moss's) opinion the court would be just as wise as at the beginning, but would be satisfied that another would be added to the mysteries unfortunately happening at sea.

The proceedings were adjourned till Monday.
