ROYAL COMMISSION AT THURSDAY ISLAND.

Thursday Island, May 9.

The Federal Royal Commission appointed to inquire into the pearling industry took evidence here this mqrning. The witnesses were Messrs. Lee Bryce, Government Resident; Norman Lockyer, Collector of Customs; and A. S. Booker, Sub-Collector of Customs. Their evidence was mainly in regard to the official administration of the pearling and beche-de-mer industries.
