As a pastoralist country its success has been remarkable. Indeed, to shrewd observers it seems more than probable that this district is among the very finest pieces of cattle country in the Commonwealth, requiring only an outlet for its herds, to render it still more emphatically the beef centre, not only of this State, but for the overseas markets of a large part of Asia. The pearling industry, at Broome, is the other great direction in which our Kimberly division makes itself known in the commerce of the State.
