Wireless Telegraphy for P. and O. Lines.--Information has been received in Perth to the effect that the directors of the P. and O. Company, after much consideration, have decided to instal wireless telegraphy on their vessels engaged in the Australian mail and passenger service. It is further reported that the R.M.S. Marmora, due at Fremantle on May 3, will, after her arrival in London on May 30, be the first of the steamers to have the Marconi system placed on board. The other vessels of the M. class will be fitted in due course. This move is considered as decided upon in view of the powerful wireless station to be erected at Colombo and the station the Commonwealth authorities have in contemplation at Fremantle or Rottnest Island. The value of such a station at Fremantle, when the P and 0. vessels are fitted with the wireless system, will be apparent. The time of the ship's arrival will be fixed to within a few minutes and arrangements made accordingly.
