BROOME MURDER CASE.

THE PREROGATIVE OF MERCY.

A meeting of the Executive Council was held this afternoon, and it was decided that the sentence of death passed on Pablo Marquez, Simeon Espada, and Charles Hagen for the murder of Mark Liebglid, at Broome, should be carried into effect at 8 o'clock to-morrow morning. Hagen still persists in stoutly declaring his innocence. His Excellency the Governor has the prerogative of reprieving a condemned man even against the advice of his Ministers, yet it is one that is very rarely exercised by the representative of the Crown. It is reported that there is a conflict of opinion between the Executive Council and his Excellency in regard to at least one of the three condemned men.
